ABOUT THE ARTWORK
 
In my latest work, I've taken a whimsical leap into the world of surrealism, inspired by Salvador Dali's iconic Lobster Telephone. My rendition, however, takes a playful turn, transforming the lobster into something more personal, more 'Smiley'. I envisioned Dali's head needed to be included to replace the lobster, but instead of just replicating his surreal essence, I infused it with my own signature smiley aesthetic.

The phone itself is a riot of color, primarily yellow and orange, set against a bright blue background to make the colors pop. The dial of the phone is adorned with exaggerated smiley faces, a nod to my love for injecting happiness and a sense of play into my art. Below the dial, I playfully inscribed "CALL ME," inviting interaction, much like Dali's phone invited touch with its unexpected lobster form.

This piece is a homage to Dali, but through my lens, it becomes a fusion of surrealism with pop artl. It's my way of saying that art should surprise, delight, and above all, make you smile, even when it's rooted in the surreal and the profound.
